What is an EEI/SED, and when must I fill out?

The US census bureau as issued and final rule to automate the Shippers Explore Declaration(SED),the new name is electronic information(EEI). This rule was published in the federal register on June 2008. Penalties may be imposed per violation of the FTR from $1100 to $10,000 both civil and criminal for to delayed filing, failure to file false filing of export information, and/or using the AES to further any illegal activity. Also all AES filers are faced with new filing dead lines by mode of transportations for reporting export information. It is important that you understand these new requirements so that you avoid the increased penalties and seizure of your commodities. It is the filers responsibility to ensure that all AES transactions file receive an ITN.without the ITN,The shipment will not be accepted. Filing to correct fatal errors may subject your company to finds or revocation of your filing privileges in GEL in-side SAP screen.
