This form is used by both the Bureau and the US government to ensure that you are in full compliance with all customs laws and regulations and to track the amount of exports that are leaving the country, compared to the number of imports that is coming in.

The EEI Can be Filed Online

The EEI is filed online with the US Census Bureau via the AES or Automated Export System. It can be filed by you or by the shipping company you have chosen. If you choose to submit the paperwork yourself, you will need to have the appropriate software installed in your SAP system.
